Elissa Tognozzi received her Ph.D. in Italian from UCLA in 1993 and has been with the Department of Italian as Lecturer SOE since 1997. She teaches graduate seminars in methods and in technology. Her upper-division courses include advanced composition, culture, and theater. In addition, she is undergraduate advisor, coordinator of the language program, and supervisor of the department's teaching assistants. She has undertaken numerous research projects in technology and foreign language pedagogy. She co-authored a second-year Italian text, Ponti, published by Houghton Mifflin in 2004 with a second edition due in December 2008 published by Cengage. From 2003-2008 she was Chair of the AP Italian Development Committee. Since 2003 she has been Editor of the AATI Newsletter.
