Increase your appreciation of the structures, themes, and sounds of European music by visiting locations significant to the history of music. The program begins in Venice, a major center of Italian Baroque music. In Salzburg and Vienna, students visit the houses of Mozart and Beethoven and attend concert performances. The program concludes in Paris where students learn about French musical impressionism, Stravinsky’s music for the Russian Ballet and the modern music of Messiaen and Boulez.
