Explore cutting edge, urban, cultural and political issues in the country's largest city. These include the 2007-9 financial crisis, New York's attempt to plan for a city of 9.2 million, the rebuilding of the Word Trade Center, the new High Line park,
the new Hudson River Park (called by some the Central Park of the twenty first century), attempts to "green" the city, the city’s spectacular success in reducing crime, issues facing the largest public school system in the country, the newest architecture, the changing role of museums, the growth of Chelsea as the largest Contemporary Art gallery district in the world, the changing world of newspapers, television and journalism, the structure of the film industry in New York, and Broadway and contemporary theater. The program combines seminars and on-site visits led by some of the major experts in the city.
