German Majors/Minors Successfully Study Abroad
More than 50 majors/minors have studied abroad with EAP since 2000. They have taken nearly 500 courses in 8 countries.
Popular Countries for German Majors/Minors
Although the vast majority of German majors and minors study in Germany, some have decided to study in countries where other languages are spoken. There, they have often fulfilled requirements for a second major, minor or for general education. The opportunities are endless, but the following are countries where German majors/minors have studied in recent years:

Information on Coursework to Take Abroad for German Majors/Minors
Although ALL units and grades from EAP courses transfer automatically to your UCLA transcript and count towards graduation, applying the courses to major, minor or school requirements requires department approval.
Majors and minors are not limited in the number of courses that may transfer to UD requirements, but they must remember that 24 units in the primary major must be completed in residence at UCLA.

Advice from German Department Advisers
- For coursework to be applied to the major, the content must be related to a course that is currently offered at UCLA.
- Students following Plan B of the major may have more flexibility since it allows for four courses in related fields.
- It is possible for the 130A,B requirement to be fulfilled abroad.
- Relevant courses taught in English could be applied toward the major.
- Courses taken in Dutch or Scandinavian languages can be applied towards the minor or major in Germanic languages/linguistics.
