Spend a summer month in one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico:  Merida.  Merida, Mexico’s safest and cleanest city, is known as the “White City”.  Merida’s residents, who are proud of their colonial roots and their Mayan heritage, will welcome you warmly as they host you and invite you to enjoy the celebration of their cultural pride.  In the city of Merida, you will study Spanish language and culture in an institute on the spectacular Paseo de Montejo, lined with colonial mansions, where you can still take a ride in a horse drawn carriage.  You will participate in a number of cultural excursions to the most important Mayan ruins, the Yucatecan cenotes, and protected wildlife reserves.  Weekend excursions include a cultural tour of Mexico City and the pyramids at Teotihuacan and a stay on the fabulous Mayan Riviera.  Merida is a half hour from the sea, and features a tranquil lifestyle with all of the modern-day conveniences. Its cultural offerings, size and safe character make it a perfect place to study the Spanish language and culture, as well as Pre-Hispanic and modern Mayan culture.
