UCLA students have a wide range of international programs to choose from. With the help of online tools and academic advising, they can pick the study abroad option that best suits their academic and professional goals. The rich palette of international programming includes year-long and short-term programs around the globe. For students in residence at UCLA, there are many campus organizations that provide services to international students while enriching student life through cultural programming.

Undergraduate Study Abroad

UC Education Abroad Program: For students who would like to immerse themselves in a language or a culture, EAP offers semester- and year-long programs within a foreign academic structure.

Travel Study: For students who want a short-term summertime option, Travel Study offers over 30 four- to five-week programs on five different continents.

The UCLA Archaeology Field Program allows students to choose from a range of locations and projects where they can put archaeological methods and theory into practice. Participants will come to a better understanding of the discipline and of the world through immersion in archaeological practice and local culture.

Quarter Abroad at UCLA offers a few options for students interested in faculty-led experiences during the academic year.

Non-UC Study Abroad is an option for students who have exhausted their UC-sponsored programs.

The UCLA Career Center offers individual and group advising to students on a wide array of international opportunities such as international internships, volunteer positions, short-term work abroad, and teaching abroad.

UCLA's Marine Biology Quarter (MBQ) is a field program designed to give advanced undergraduates an opportunity to gain intimate and first hand knowledge of marine communities.

Graduate and Professional Study Abroad

UCLA’s Education Abroad Program (EAP) offers exchange opportunities for graduate students.  Graduate students may take courses, conduct research, and participate in short-term language programs for a semester or a year. Students must meet EAP minimum requirements, including language prerequisites. They should have completed at least one year of graduate work and have the support of their academic department and graduate dean. Some programs, such as the EAP year in Berlin, offer graduate student scholarships.

UCLA’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) provides summer opportunities to study business Chinese in Shanghai, China or business Spanish in Lima, Peru at the graduate and professional level.

The UCLA Cotsen Institute of Archaeology allows students to perform graduate level fieldwork around the world.  Students can excavate with a world-renowned team of archaeologists in the Tarapaca desert, Peru, Panama, Ecuador, and several other destinations.

The UCLA Anderson School of Business Global Access Program is an educational program that matches students in the Fully-Employed MBA (FEMBA) Program with existing international technology companies to develop a comprehensive business strategy to enable the companies to move to the next stage of corporate development.

UCLA-National University of Singapore (NUS) Executive MBA program offers a double-degree executive MBA with a strong focus on the United States and Asia. Students earn two MBA degrees from UCLA and NUS. Classes are held in Singapore, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Bangalore.

On-Campus Services for International Students

The Dashew Center For International Students and Scholars offers visa and immigration counseling and advice to international faculty, staff, and students. They also offer extensive cultural programming from film screenings to English conversation classes to excursions around California, and other services including programs and workshops related to important international student and scholar requirements and benefits.
